Class Overview Seventh Grade Language Arts |
Welcome, parents and students, to an inventive classroom where effective strategies and authentic applications dominate! Our class is an innovative place where students WANT to be in order to maximize their learning. Won't you come and discover with us? Before you know it, our inner strengths will begin to emerge, develop, and mature. We will become stronger, more confident, and more precise. In time, our successes will become etches in history. You see, our destiny is not only to remember-- but to be remembered! So, come on! Grab your things, so we can get started right away!

Week of Jan. 2nd- Students, we are going to make massive adjustments due to our loss of class time this week. Please use this time to work on your magazine pages in Publisher and/or Lucidpress! This has become an independent study project, so this is one of the BEST times to move forward on this while you don't have other work to compete with it. Choose ONE of the stories assigned to you and work on that. Yes, you read that right! Select the one you are most excited about and work to complete that one. Remember this counts for ONE GRADE, so we can move on to other skills and concepts. Let's take a lemon and turn it into lemonade! :) Have fun! Luv ya! Stay warm and safe! [We will set due dates later.]

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am writing to inform you that your student will be participating in a project that encourages him/her to use student emails to sign up for a FREE, EDUCATIONAL ACCOUNT with Lucidpress. I have personally spoken with a representative who has encouraged me to take advantage of the free version of this powerful, software tool. Please assist and monitor your student as you see fit. Meanwhile, I am excited about the opportunity for families to work together on this ambitious project! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me AFTER you've read the "Outsiders' Special Assignment" on our "Notes & More" page. Once again, thank you for all you do to support excellence in education! ~Ms. Nimmons |

Directions for Creating a Free EDUCATION Account
1. Click "Lucidpress.com." (It's right beside these directions!) 2. Once you get there, click "EDUCATION" at the top of the screen. (If you do not see ENTERPRISE, EDUCATION, TOUR, RESOURCES, & PRICING, you are not in the right place to sign up correctly!) 3. Type your student email address in the white bar. 4. Click the green "Sign up free" bar next to it. 5. Follow the onscreen directions. You should eventually be asked if you want to convert this to a free education account. Please say, "Yes." 6. You will be notified that your account has been created. 7. Please write down your email address and password for Ms. Nimmons. It would be great if everyone in a particular class used my last name and your class period. (i.e. Nimmons74, Nimmons76. This makes remembering easy.) |
